Camelbak
 

Does anyone use a Camelbak on their ride? I saw one guy today that had one. The thing was so bright (In color.) I could see it 1/2 block away.

People look down on them, but they are extremely handy. Especially in hot climates. I put the bladder in a frame bag so I don’t have something on my back though.

Not for commuting, but they're handy for long rural rides. I can finish my commute (45 minutes) with just one water bottle.

I use it when mt. biking as I don't get crud on the bite valve the way I do on a bottle.

I don't typically use it on a road ride unless I'm uncertain where the water breaks are or I need to carry more then 2 bottles worth.

I never use it commuting as my commute has water fountains along a board walk in NYC where I can re-fill a bottle.

Yes. At least when I take the MTB, which has a frame bag where bottles would go. I’m on my 2nd Blowfish. First one got melted by motorcycle exhaust or I’d probably still have it. I usually leave my laptop at work but if I have to carry it home I leave the Camel there.

I have one but stopped using it. I drink a HUGE amount of water on long hot humid days and need something other than two cages between refill spots. I just went to carrying the equivalent amount or even more than would fit in the bladder in regular bottles in the backpack. Easier to fill, more flexible in what I can carry, and cleaning/replacing/refilling random bottles is much easier and quicker. I don't miss the convenient drinking tube either. I place my active bottles in the regular cages and pull them out while riding as needed and swap or refill them with full bottles out of the backpack. Not against it but if I'm carrying something on my back for the long haul, I want more flexibility.

I do on my commutes to work and sometimes on the weekend.
