Tell me about it, the closest is about 130 miles north of me in Surrey BC. Although I think there may be one before that on 99. I also always stop in Squamish on my way to Whistler. :D

Nicodemus 07-13-05 05:22 PM

You're all a bunch of bastards. God how I miss decent donuts. I think that's going to have to be one of the first things I do upon my return to Canada... donuts!!

slagjumper 07-13-05 09:16 PM

I never did buy many DD some CC. I dont drink coke because they had a commercial with tall bikes.

Patience! They have penetrated Maine, I have one my commute. (The irony is that most of my co-workers still prefer DD.)

Personally, I think DD's are handy to have around. I mean, where else are you going to find an open restroom at 3AM? :)

What goes around, comes around. There isn't even a Dunkin' Donuts in my state, but I went to their website and complained anyway. Dunkin Donuts Website

The point is respect. This ad models the idea that it's okay to treat bicyclists as fall guys to be abused. You may not notice the effect directly, but it reinforces the idea that its okay to harrass, taunt, or endanger bycyclists. That is bad. That should be discouraged.

KrisPistofferson 02-15-06 11:44 AM

LOL-Paging "I Like To Bike"-we need you, buddy.

DataJunkie 02-15-06 11:48 AM

I have better things to complain about.
Anyhow, the best protest is to not frequent said establishment.
Not that I can since I do not think we have any here. We are infested with krusty kremes. Yuck
All sugar donuts.
Anyways.....I prefer danishes. No donuts for me.

Jarery 02-15-06 11:54 AM

Tim Hortons for me !

And I have heard they are slowly opening franchises in the states. THe end is in site, soon you'll all be drinking Tim's coffee, eating Tim's donuts, and mounting hockey sticks on your bikes.

DataJunkie 02-15-06 01:03 PM

I can handle the hockey sticks. However, no curling, coffee, or donuts for me.

curt in denver 02-15-06 04:16 PM

I'm speechless.

How about mounting your bike on hockey sticks. I knew someone would have attempted it. Coincidentally, built by someone in my hometown. (4th bike down)

Originally I thought that this thread was titled "Dunkin Donuts attracts bike commuters."

sbeatonNJ 02-15-06 04:48 PM

The Dunkin Donuts in my neighborhood has a drive through and the line is around the building and out of the shopping plaza each morning with people who cant park and walk in. Even though parking and walking in would be quicker. I rode my bike up there last week to buy my class munchkins and I was in and out with a box of munchkins before 2 cars could go.

peregrine 02-15-06 08:39 PM

wow, this thread is from last summer??

But anyway, commercials normally annoy me so I don't pay them much attention. However, I've also noticed that too many people (not just here in the US but almost everywhere) derive their 'moral system' and their 'principles' if you will from TV, so I can see how someone might fails to see the humor in that particular one.

But was it really worth bringing back a thread from 6 months ago? ;)
