Frustrated with my action camera

It's a Kaiser Baas x300 I purchased on a sale in January.

During my winter rides, I learned the battery wouldn't even last an hour. So I purchased spare batteries and keep them close to my body to keep them warm.

Now that it's summer, and with record temperatures reaching 40C, I think the camera cuts out due to over heating so I am only able to record 30 minutes of video out of a one hour trip. Each recording is in 15 minute clips. So the clip when the camera cuts out should be 10 minutes long BUT it wouldn't play if the camera shuts itself off.

So after learning all the quirks of this camera can someone suggest something else for a bike rider taking 2 to 3 or may 4 hour round trips that:

1) has long lasting batteries (more than an hour)

2) has a separate battery charger;

3) spare batteries available

4) keeps the date and time when changing batteries;

5) operates from -15C to +40C (winter and summer) actually winter can go down to -30C but no consumer electronics will last an hour in that condition

6) if it can read passing car licence plates, that would be great;

7) last recorded video is still playable when battery power runs out.

8) reasonably priced - GroPro is crazy expensive. Probably $150 USD or lower. I'm Canadian so any USD quote, I will have to inflate it 1.5x for CAD pricing.

Some names I have come across in February and March are

Campark V30

Yi

Cycliq Fly - like GoPro, I think they are too pricey

Can't remember what other Youtube reviews I saw.

Thanks.

I've heard good things about the Sony Action Cam.

You can find a used or refurbished GoPro hero5 Black for around $150 US on eBay. Even though it’s older it’s still a pretty capable camera with image stabilization. I get about 90mins from my GoPros.

I use the GoPro Hero7 Black. Uses a camera battery that lasts over an hour or more. I use the QuikCapture mode recording short clips and the battery lasts for 3 hour ride. I bought mine on Swappa. Recently one sold for $195.

My Contour Roam 2 is just about done, with winter battery life no longer adequate. The Drift Ghost line of cameras looks good to me, especially with the easy-swap batteries.

I sent e-mails to Campark and Akaso about the battery life and operating temperatures of the cameras I was interested in. I hope they respond.

If I continue to ride why my Kaiser Baas, I just might have to stop every 30 minutes to change batteries letting the old one cool down.

This sounds like a lot of hassle just to have a tape of your drive to work.
