I saw on a "Andy Griffith" show the shows about a English man who rode is bike everywhere. His name was, " Maleolim". (???) What type of bicycle did use?

Malcolm Merriweather, played by Bernard Fox. Google images came up with a few photos of the bike, none clear enough to show the brand name. At a guess, it looks like one of the many brands that Raleigh hoovered up in the '60s: Humber, Armstrong, Phillips, etc. Wald front basket, though.

The bike is black with white-tipped mudguards and a black non-leather saddle whose front third is also white, which might be clues for those who know English bikes of that era better than I do.

Edit: those great-looking rear panniers in Rumrunn's color photo above remind me of a set of panniers at the local bike shop that I coveted as a kid: palomino-dyed rabbit fur, with crossed six-guns embossed on the pannier buckles.
