First bike commute in 10 years
I managed to grind my way through Brooklyn to Lower Manhattan this morning, not quite 14 miles. I used to live much closer to work than I do now and used to ride all the time, but that was 10 years ago! I wanted to see if I could do it (and get more mileage in as the Five Boro Bike Tour is coming up).
Very much slow and steady, but I got it done. TBA whether I will make it a habit. I rode my Linus Gaston 3, a bike that definitely suits NYC. A 28 mile round trip should please my doctor as well.

Thanks! I took a slightly different route coming home (Brooklyn Bridge instead of the Manhattan Bridge, so the distance might be a bit less. I forgot to run Strava coming home, but it took me about an hour and a half.
Now I have to see if I can make it a habit.

I also have been working to make commuting a habit.... at some point it was and like a well oiled machine. The thing I have noticed is you have to kind of force yourself to make it a habit and if for some reason you are off the bike you will probably have to go through the process of making it a habit again (depends on the length of time)...
