Internal Geared Hub Wheelset

I am interested in building up a spare frame around an internal geared hub drivetrain, but I am not finding a lot of options as far as buying a ready-to-go wheelset/shifter. I would like to go 7 or 8 speed (650b or 700c, disc brake) and would prefer Shimano, but am open to other options. If these types of wheelsets just aren't readily available, I have been looking at bikeisland's website and might end up buying one of their damaged bikes just for the parts. Any suggestions for possible wheelset sources in the US?
Thank you for your time,
John

Currently in the process of building up an internal gear gravel bike for a friend, I didn't find many prebuilt wheel options for the alfine hub. In his case that's not as big a deal, he's a fairly large rider so its being built with 36 spokes, 3x, alpine spokes, and heavy duty Light Bicycle rims with angled spoke holes for the rear. Even then the hub doesn't come with the cable stop, axle nuts, dropout alignment washers, a cog, or any form of shifter. Microshift offers a drop bar shifter for Alfine so that's where we went being a gravel bike. You're idea of a damaged motobecane for parts isn't a bad one, not sure the ratio of damaged frames to damaged wheels but if the wheels are solid you could have a good setup.

What frame, how wide is the axle? How old is it? Does it have old style slot dropouts? Pics?
I built my SA drum hubs and Rohloff14 wheels myself. Used Dyad rims, locking nipples and 2.3/ 2.0 spokes where I could. 100% solid, set and forget.
Make damn sure you don't get boat anchor roller brakes. Nexus 7i supposedly has a lot of drag anyway.
Likely cheaper to just buy a whole used bike from someone who decided it's too slow. LOL.

I haven't shopped for that stuff for a long time, but I think these were not terribly hard to find, so maybe it has changed. You can have a wheel custom built. If you don't find a local builder, I could build it for you for $60. You buy the parts and pay for shipping. But a local builder won't charge for shipping.
