Commuters, what is your age?
I did a search but only found a poll for age of road bikers. So commuters, what is your age group?

Interesting where the spikes are, I'm 42 and the last time I was bike-only I fit in the earlier spike, I was in my mid-late 20s.

I'm 60. So far there's only one person in the 56-60 category (guess that's me ). I'll be 61 in a few months. I guess I'll be the only one in the 61+ category then.

that's cute and I kinda expected that. I am 44 and we are 13.79 (at the moment.) This is the nice turnaround on the demogragpics when we go back to the things we used to like when we were younger (like biking). Interesting...

I've found that bicycle commuting is a great way to get rid of all the demons you towed through your mid-20's to 40. It's like discovering an old toy you thought you'd lost.

Commuting by bike is my way of making up for all of my bad driving that I did as younger fellow. I'll be 27 this November and have been doing some sort of bike commuting for over a year now and riding full-time to work since April.

I think an older a person has learned from the mistakes he's made in his youth and he will benefit by not repeating them.
I attached a graph of accidents of car/bike accidents in BC complied over several years that shows, the older you are, the less accidents you get in. Sure, there are less older people than younger people riding, but the older people may be riding safer too. This is just a broad generlization, but looking at the age poll and the graph here, it makes sense that the 20 somethings get into a larger portion of accidents than 40 somethings.

Looks like I am the oldest to date. I turned 63 in May. Been commuting daily and year round since June '99. About 2,200 miles commuting and another 2,400 miles of club rides annually.

I'm 24 and relatively new to commuting. This is my 1st year doing it as my main way of getting to work. I still drive sometimes though, but 75%of the time is biking. I'm going to try and bike this winter too!!
