a kind man comes to my rescue.

continuing the saga, i had my court date yesterday to reinstate my license. boooooooooo!

i scooted downtown to the courthouse, not anticipating how long it would take. it didn't help that i was on the new/used road bike i've recently acquired and don't know how to ride or that i had very little idea where i was going... i was terrified i would be late.

'bout halfway there, i realised i had forgotten my keys (yes, i know, it's already establish that i am terribly absent minded). i was well on my way to a courthouse in downtown los angeles with a newly bought bike, a chain and a lock that cannot be opened.

what to do??? was i gonna blow off court, fearing the theft of my beloved? was i gonna try to create the illusion of security? was i gonna throw the freakin' thing in the bushes, cross my fingers and hope for the best?

no! as i rolled up i had an ingenius idea. employee parking! just sneak on in, stash it behind a big a$$ suv and sit pretty throughout the proceedings... until the parking attendant caught wind of what i was planning. foiled! or not...

i grabbed his hand and said: oh please! i have court right now and i forgot my keys and i can't lock her up and i really, really need to just hide this girl somewheres in this lot! whaddaya say?

guess what!?! he pointed to a service entrance that read 'not an exit/employees only' and told me to just put it in the stair well. my hero! i sat through court content and smiling. when i came back out he was cheery as can be, asked me how it went and complimented my bike.

and this my friends, is where the saga ends. the license is restored. i bought my friends car. my job is no longer in jeopardy, and i owe it all to this one kind-hearted man.
