why do i want to spend so much more on a specific "commuter" helmet when this keeps my dome safe and warm for under 10 bucks?

i just really hope somtime i can score a nice old skate helemt like a flyaway some day...

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I'm looking for a new helmet (dinged my Bell Citi in a crash a couple of weeks ago). I'm looking at a Metro as an upgrade, especially since I love helmet mirrors, but can never get a helmet mirror to stay mounted for more than a week or two before it falls off.

The Metro with the matched mirror seemed the ticket, but this thread indicates it's not very good. But this thread is also 2 years old. Does anyone with a new Metro have any comments on the mirror quality of the new one?

I would like to give some input on this mirror. If you look, it's a plastic mirror with no guard around it. I had one mounted on my Bell Citi's visor two weeks ago when I crashed face-first into the pavement.

Long story short; it took 9 stitches to close the very deep gash on my face plowed by the edge of this mirror as it travelled across my face. It's going in the trash and I'm using something like a Cycleaware Reflex from now on, which has a plastic rim.
