On several occasions I've found myself wanting more capacity than my Chrome Metropolis offers. The latest was this morning when I went grocery shopping. I just couldn't buy all the stuff I wanted because it wouldn't fit.

So I waited until the Chrome store opened (they are about 1 block from where I live in SF) and went over there to look at the Kremlins. Ended up buying a black Kremlin with yellow stripe and it's all yellow liner on the inside (helpful when trying to find stuff). They also knocked 10% off the price for my SF Bicycle Coalition membership card. ;-)

This thing is HUGE (3,000 cubic inches), and almost could do double duty as a body bag. Strangely though, it doesn't feel that huge when it's on your back. I think I will be able to put enough stuff in the Kremlin to do myself serious damage.

Congrats Mike. Whatever you do, don't pull a slvoid.

I think he pulls his slvoid all the time. ;-)

Well, what were you carrying in your metro that filled it up to the point where you wanted a bigger one?

Lotsa stuff! But primarily I find it lacking when I go grocery shopping. I don't have a car and use my bicycle for everything.

I love my Kremlin, it was the first real messenger bag I've owned. Now looking at my friend's bags, they look so small in comparison and I wonder how they can be of any use, I mean you can hardly fit a whole case of beer in all of the smaller bags :)

y'know what's worse than that graphic is if merton was pulling his slvoid.

we're just making up a whole new language here, aren't we?

Here's a comparison shot... Kremlin on the left and Metropolis on the right. I thought the Metro was big, but the Kremlin makes it look like a purse!

I've had a metropolis for a couple months now and I love it. Sometimes I do wish I had more space though, sometimes....

I wonder if Chrome will ever offer a kremlin-sized bag in their ransack messenger style.

I wanted to mention that anyone getting a Chrome bag should definitely consider the lining color more carefully. I think a lot of people don't realize that stuff can be hard to find inside such a huge bag, and a lighter lining can really help. It also boosts your visibility.

Strangely, every single bag they had in their showroom had a black liner except the one I bought, which is bright yellow inside (same as the stripe on the outside). It's definitely *much* easier to find stuff in there than in the black lining of my Metropolis.
