Can't seem to find much info that breaks down the ages of the general public who ride bikes but i did find this study of organized cycling in Australia

Unlike many sports and physical activities, which show a clear decline in participation for older age groups, the participation rate in cycling remains steady up to the 35-44 year age group. The participation rate for 18-24 year olds is 0.6%, that for 25-34 year olds is 0.5% and for 35-44 year olds the rate is 0.7%. While the rate drops for persons aged 45 years or older, people in this age group still comprise more than 25.5% of participants in this sport. Overall, about five in every thousand Australians participate in cycling
I have a study of collisions between cars and bicycles in BC that includes 6,000 collisions in 3 years. The age group that is over-represented in collisions: age 25 and under. A drop in collisions occurred at the legal driving age of 16. Check out how few cyclists over the age of 40 are involved in collisions compared to those between 10 and 33. Ten times as many 21 year olds get into collisions as those 45 years and older.

35 with the emotional maturity of a 17 year old (and dropping).

In climbing they say that there are no old, bold (like in fearless, daring ...) climbers.
Might be similar with cyclists

42 for one more week. Avoided a collision, late last year by dumping my bike on a 14% grade and skinning my knees on some gravel. Year before that, comming down a 40 foot, leaf covered, ~40% grade of a hill, slid out. Lost my p-brain computer, came back the next day with a metal detector and found it in the leaves.

Next year maybe I should give up drafting busses and dirt jumping. Unfortunatly since taking up yoga bunda work, I have become really good at technical single track on a hard tail. Root lock yeah!

Should probably chill out on "riding the tiger". My wife insists that I have extra insurance. I can't blame her.

Top speed last year was 46 mph.

Rock on! Did you just learn to ride a bike, or just getting into bike commuting?

Either way, good luck and have fun! My commute is the best part of my day (except for yesterday, when it was wicked, wicked cold and I forgot my gloveliners and my toes froze).

Oh, and I'm female and you can probably guess my age pretty well from the phrase "rock on". I'll be 27 in a month and change.

I guess technically "Rock on" dates to the 70's, but I remember it from my childhood. And yes, I do say it in real life -- all the time. :)

31, and I'll probably keep on until I am a senior citizen or my health allows, whichever comes first. I am at peace with being "that 91 year-old man who rides a bike everywhere." ;)

Bikefleet, I'll be doing a clothing orientation course, also listed as "how to dress when mommies away" in your course guide. Be sure to attend and sit in front :p
