Burlington, VT to Essex Junction

I'm considering returning to school and one strong candidate would be culinary school at the New England Culinary Institute in Essex Junction, VT. My wife and I only have one car, and would like to keep it that way. So, if we move, we'll probably move to Burlington and then I'd commute to Essex Junction, hopefully by bike. Are there any bike paths that connect the two, or ideal on road routes? I'm happy to ride with a fair amount of traffic, but would be even happier to skip it.

I think they recently put in a bridge across the Winnoski River for pedestrians and bikes, which will help a lot. There are a many bikers in that area, though I live 80 miles away and don't get there often so I can't be more specific.
