PDB,

I think you will happy with the Paselas, particularly the TG. They have a great variety of sizing, too. Your width needs will be based both on the road conditions and what you carry. Sometimes I have to carry quite a bit, including groceries, which is why I remain at 32mm tires and over.

One tire that has not been mentioned, but I'd suggest is a candidate for best commuter tire, is the wider Avocet Fasgrip. I've been using them over the fall and winter, and they are a wonderful tire. I use the one marked 35 that really is 31-32 mm.

I've spent a lot of money trying to find what I consider the best commuting tire. I prefer kevlar beads; makes it that much easier to change a flat if the need should arise. I've tried several Panaracer models, but their lower quality manufacturing has made me avoid them now. I now ride on Avocet Cross II K tires; in the 26x1.25 variety. They make 700c models as well. They are a little spendy (kevlar models anyway) but very worth it in my opinion. I ride 35 miles round trip and not always the best road conditions.

I have 700x32 Panaracer Pasela TG. No *you know whats* in nearly 3000 miles.
I'm very happy with them.

I've had excellent luck with the Panaracer T-Serv, which is fairly similar to the Pasela TG.

I've had a sidewall split on a T-Serv. I bought a pair of Crosstowns, one sidewall had a crack in it, returned it, the one I got after the casing came apart. And *you know what* happend after only 4 commutes on the CrossTowns. At 900g a tire w/ TourGaurd you'd think they'd be a bit more robust.

I also had good luck with GEAX StreetRunners, those are wire bead, but I'm not sure if they come in 700c sizes.

Ive tried a fair amount of tires,

at the moment Im riding Avocett Cross II 700x35 , been very happy with them.

I am using the standard tire as the kevlars were out of stock when I ordered, so I threw some Mr toughy strips on top of the tubes So far so good.
