A return to Commuting
Well I'm back to commuting after a long break.
Some of you may remember a little crash I had last August.
Well during the 8 weeks that I wasn't able to ride I was miserable. So as soon as the doctor told me that I'd be able to ride in a couple of weeks I started preparing the bike. Bought new clipless pedals. Practiced clipping in and out. I even went for a couple short rides around the neighborhood.
The day after the doctor cleared me to start riding I woke late so I couldn't ride to work. But after work I drove home, changed cloths, and rode to school.
Now being exceptionally foolish, after a moderate or long ride in the past I'd do a rolling dismount (I know its a bad habit).
So when I reached the school I unclipped my right foot, swung it over the left side of the bike. Just as was placing my right foot on the ground I realized that I forgot to disengage my left foot. So most of me stops be, but my left foot keeps going with the bike. Several pops and a world of pain later, broken ankle.
So there ended the possibility of commuting for the rest of the year.
But "I'm back in the saddle again". Rode every day this week. Feeling good (As long as I can avoid breaking anything this year )

I took a couple of spills when starting out with clipless, although luckily most of the injury was to my pride.
Please, take it easy.

Cycle Year Round
My recommendation for you is - stick with cycling and do not take up skydiving.
Best wishes for a quick recovery.
