Shoes Shoes Shoes**********?

hello. i'm looking to purchase cycling shoes for commuting but am hitting a wall. i want something that's casual so i can walk with them on, not too bulky, and most annoyingly, i want them leather free. the Nike Katos seemed to fit that bill but no one has my size(as far as i've looked).

any recommendations before i go crazy and just replace my pedals on my new bike with cages?

I was unable to find a leather-free clipless casual shoe as well. I simply keep a pair of shoes in my bag. I know that is not the answer you are looking for though.

but it might be the only thing to do. i don't mind really doing it commuting to work and such. but what about just going to on a ride to the store, to hang out, etc, etc? i don't wanna clunk around in silly shoes.

aye. it's looking more and more that i'll go with cages. but meh, i wanna go clipless!!! waaaaahhwaahhhh!!!!

San Diego eh? You can get clipless open toed sandles. Then use the little rubber/plastic thingies that cover the widgets in the soles for off-bike use. I just wear my loose comfortable size 13 New Balance Nike work shoes on my 20 mile ride home, toe clips and all.

Agreed on the sandals, perfect for SD, perfect for 'a ride to the store' and 'just hanging out'

As above, sandals are THE way to go. I have the Exustar sandals and I'm loving them. Sooo comfortable walking, I wear them even off the bike. My wife thinks I'm a bit of a geek though . I wear them all day at work, no covers needed for the cleats (recessed adequately).
