Squeak, squeak go the sandals in the rain...

So, first time riding in the rain. It was quite refreshing, except for the unending squeaking of my sandals on my eggbeaters.

How can I prevent this? Should I use the cleat spacers? I thought that it was good to have the tread just touching the spindle? Or should the tread not touch the spindle at all?

Thanks, Kerry

True, true. The ground spray was making the pedals wet, mostly from puddles. Made a couple of people give me funny looks though, like what's wrong with your bike?

Don't bother to prevent this. It's the rubber of your sandals on the pedal. It doesn't cause any more problems wet than it does dry. Just don't fixate on it. Our world is full of sounds and smells that you must get used to.
