I got thtung!
Riding home today, felt a bug fly onto my lips. Refexively tried to swat it away with my left hand, when suddenly OOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW -- a wasp wreaked it's savage revenge on my lower lip.
It's been a bad week for commuting -- yesterday on my way into work I got sideswiped by a woman in a Civic who changed lanes without looking (bent large ring and bruises), and then on the way back somebody threw a peach at me from a car -- hit me square in the chest, and when I looked down to see the circular wet stain, I thought for a fraction of a second that I'd been shot.
I'm beginning to think I shoud just hide at home for the rest of the week.

Man that sucks. I'll pour you a scotch ...
I got stung while riding on Sunday. Middle of the forehead. I thought it'd be horrible since I usually swell up like a balloon but I have to say if I ever have to get stung again - I want it on the forehead. I guess there's not enogh tissue and bloodflow there to get bothered by it.
Heres your scotch...

But that sideswipe and thrown peach would really piss me off. Did you get the Civic driver to pay you for your damaged bike??

The sting I can live with; one of those unavoidable little hazards that isn't likely to happen again anytime soon. But the sideswipe and the peach got me furious ... the sideswipe, especially (so furious that after yelling at the woman I pedalled off without bothering to think about getting her name or plate).

Wow...I'm from Ottawa too, and disappointed to hear you ran into that here The peach would have put me over the edge...the sideswipe would have kept me off the bike for a bit I think.
Hope you have a better day tomorrow - looks like rain though OCTranspo for me blah.

Well, they say bad luck comes in threes and it sounds like you've had 3 unlucky incidents so if I was you, I'd be playing the lotto right about now. Here's to better luck soon!
