The Bontrager slicks look great too.. and huge! 2.2"?

If I had that thing I would doing massive nose stall endos at every light, and spinning the backwheel in reverse before slamming it back onto the ground. It just screams 'urban fun'.

Geez, I have had my eye on a new Cross Check for the past while and these pics are making me want to run out and buy it now. I also very much like the take off from Full Metal Jacket "This is my Surly, this is my gun...!" LOL I will have to remember it....

Yeah I know, my bike is all over the place and that's how I like. I got it used so it's a mixture of his stuff and mine and it works like a dream. It's a singlespeed and the rear brake will be put back on just need a link or two for my chain. The Hank(slick) was rubbing the brake line. I haven't flown off the handlebars yet, but for my light commute and riding hard for fun on local trails. I haven't had a problem yet. I'm surprised too, with the height of the meats I have perfect clearance, believe me, I like to go into turns deep. It's a lot of fun. This is easily my favorite bike ever... Thanks 4 the compliments.

You've got an appropriate thread title: I had a guy at my LBS yesterday tell me "Surly frames are essentially weapons."

Whats more dangerous then a surly rider catching up to a obscene cager and ghost riding there nearly indestructible bike into a side panel. I think the surly would win Or a surly being tossed into a wind shield of a obscene cager after being hit or caught up into in a parking lot

What tires are those? I'd like to get some uber-wide slicks like that for my LHT. What are those anyway, like 2.1 inches? :D

Bontrager Hanks 26x2.2

48x17, with my 26x1.9 slicks I would need about a 48x15 maybe to keep the pace that I like. But with these fat boys and my 48x17 gearing, I think I've found my "PEEEERRRRRRFFFFFEEEECCCCCTTTTTT GEAR" :)

Oh, btw, sweet white 1x1 urself, I love those skinny yellow slicks. What kind are those?

No toe overlap problems either. I don't know how but I think I just found the perfect bike for me and my character. I know that it's true for cars, the car u drive represents the person u are. Well I don't have a car and I hope this surly is essentially me, a harsh looking bruiser, who burns to be fast, give it a ride and u'll find out, it's pretty smooth...not too bad, not perfect but works hard to be, at least, decent in a few different areas :)

Thanks. The tires are 1.3" Vredstein S-Licks. They also come in red and blue(and black of course).

camashtorcal, I still think you should drop the technology (cyclocomputer) to free your mind when riding your sweet fat-slicked surly.

Ah, one of these days. But alot of my fun riding is distance riding, so I like 2 keep a log, not so much in the summer but more in the fall/winter time, so I don't get too lazy and make sure I'm in decent riding shape all year round.
