Holy carp! I'm glad to read that you're coming along well, especially after such a wicked injury. I worked in a CT-OR for a while, and I've seen what a torn aorta looks like. If they gave you a Dacron wrap, know that now it's about as strong as those Flexsteel hoses on a gas pump; When you're back in the saddle, you'll be able to push it that much more.

Holy ****! That's one hell of a rough ride you must've had... I'm really glad to know you're on the mend and obviously able to post, etc.

I loved reading your moms words in the article, she seemed incredibly supportive and proud of your cycling and fit/active lifestyle - good for you, man. I also liked how the "safe" and mention of the lights was included, important notes, I think.

I hope they're able to catch the bar steward that did this.
