I got nailed

I finally got computer access in my hospital room, so I had to post.

My hometown paper (not the city I live in) wrote an article on it http://www.morganton.com/servlet/Sat...=1149191031974

I'm getting transferred to a rehab program to get me back to functiional tomorrow.

At least I've now got some funky scars! :D

mechBgon 10-25-06 08:22 PM

I wish you speedy recoveries, bro. Keep looking forward.

jyossarian 10-25-06 08:23 PM

Holy ****! I'm glad you're alive dude! I bet your family's even happier. Did the cops catch the ****er?

moxfyre 10-25-06 08:23 PM

Dude, sorry about that man :( :( Sounds awful. When did this accident happen, and when are they gonna catch the @#($&@#$ that hit you?

I hope your recovery goes well and that you'll be able to get back on the bike soon. Keep us posted on BF!!

vrkelley 10-25-06 08:25 PM

Unbelievable. So very glad you're alive... take care of yourself and do keep us posted.

DataJunkie 10-25-06 08:30 PM

Holy cow! Good to hear that you are recovering.

Chuckie J. 10-25-06 08:31 PM

Oh, boy. Two crashes in the first 10 posts of the Commuting forum.....

I wish you a good recovery. Happy to see that you're alive and kicking.

slvoid 10-25-06 09:03 PM

Holy moses! VERY VERY glad you survived that one. Christ.. I hope they get the damn driver. Its good that they specifically said you ran lights and all.

Having survived a high speed accident today, I'm glad I walked away.

ColorChange 10-25-06 09:07 PM

So glad you're OK. Can you tell us what happened or what we can learn from your misfortune?

maximan1 10-25-06 09:20 PM

Wow! Glad you're alive, keep in there!

About the cops not doing anything, we should all write emails to his local police dept. complaining about the lack of attention to bike/car related accidents or something.

SingingSabre 10-25-06 09:47 PM

Can't nobody take my pride
Can't nobody hold me down
Oh no
I got to keep on movin'

I wish you a speedy recovery and will send good energy every time I ride.

Allen 10-25-06 10:09 PM

A very healthy and speedy recovery to you. My sympathies.

Jeeze, a torn aorta. My stubbed big toe can't compete with that. Hope they don't mock your pain in rehab by making you ride one of those stationary bicycles with a leather strap around the front wheel.

wild animals 10-25-06 11:06 PM

oh my god i am so sorry that happened to you!
hope you're back in action soon.

Bulbhorn 10-25-06 11:10 PM

Very best wishes to you for a fast recovery. Hope you're back in the saddle soon.

bradchu 10-25-06 11:15 PM

Torn aorta...that is SERIOUS stuff. Thank the cycling gods that the cager didn't get the best of you. Good luck eventually getting back in the saddle.

jwbnyc 10-25-06 11:52 PM

Best wishes for a full recovery.

This stuff sucks.

kill.cactus 10-26-06 12:03 AM

Hey look at the chances of survival - and you did it. Gotta be cyclist's luck man!

You'll be back and at it soon!

dalmore 10-26-06 01:56 AM

Godspeed, man.

ryanparrish 10-26-06 02:04 AM

+1 to everyone

gbcb 10-26-06 08:28 AM

Glad you're posting, and all the best for a speedy recovery. Please keep us updated on your condition, and let us know what happens to the driver.

cuda2k 10-26-06 08:35 AM

Wow, talk about beating the odds. Get well soon dude and hope they catch the car that nearly put you out for the count. Tell anyone who will listen that you want this car found.
