So far I'm 2/3 this month. I missed a day mainly out of laziness. Tomorrow's going to be hectic since I'm dropping my brother off at school then coming back home and jumping directly on the bike and going to work. Then when I get off I have to jam back home so I can get into the polls to vote since I never sent out for my absentee ballot. Doh!

I rode every workday in October, but I'm going to need someone else to put in trips to work for me in November.

My alternatives to riding to work are working at home, which I can do many Tuesdays or taking the T. I am taking the kids to the dentist today and maybe going for a ride this afternoon (but not going into work). Next week, I'm in DC all week at meetings (probably doing 2 or 3 turns on a hotel stationary bike ). That would only give me about 12 or 13 days to ride this month. Too few to count.

Good luck to everyone else!

Took today off as an allowed rest day - legs and shoulders/back are a bit sore from riding on the weekend and yesterday (not ridden more than 5 miles in the past 3 months since my accident, barring two commutes on Thurs and Fri last week - so I guess it's conditioning)

6/6 so far. I biked in today, we'll see how the afternoon roads are, I might get my wife to pick me up. We got 2 or 3 inches of snow last night which makes it challenging.

6/6, haven't missed a day since March.
The wife passed me and hollered hello when I was about halfway home last night. Gave me an incentive to push it, to see how far apart our arrivals at home are.

I put my Nokian on the front a week ago when we had some snow and black ice. I'll put the rear on when the snow starts in again.

My schedule is all screwed around so I managed to have 3 days off in a row this week. Monday night my fiancee and I rode a little over 8 miles, last night we walked and today we rode another 8. sadly I can't wait to go to work tonight, but only for the ride!

I have had 4/5 possible days so far. I have 8 more shots to ride in and Im shooting for 10 days in november. I got to work yesterday and people in the office were worried. They drove in and had to go slow as they couldnt see well due to the heavy rains. I got in earlier and didnt really notice, but it is possible that I could see better because I wasnt behind a big windshield. I was very cautious, but one of the fieldstaff sat down to talk to me about the dangers of riding on the road. She did mean well, and it was all in concern for my well being, but I rode home anyway. I felt safe, and when things felt uncomfortable, I let people pass me by pulling over.

Missed Nov 1st and 7th, so I'm 6/8 so far, 4/5 this week and I'm feeling really good about that. Might ride with the TBN on Sunday, so again I'll take Tuesday off as a rest day depending on how I feel.

Nice going all, now we're really getting into some nasty climates I think it's good we have this place for encouragement and almost a sense of accountability for our riding commitments..

well, I worked 11-7 last night and had a staff meeting 2-4 today and have to go back at 11 tonight. I didn't ride to the meeting cause My fiancee wanted to walk because she's been doing 5k walk/runs (in her case walking cause of her asthma) and wants to do 10k's next year. so we walked. either way, no driving to work and since it wasn't for work, just a meeting it's a grey area anyway. gonna ride again tonight. BTW, thanks Redneckwes for the compliments on my commuter. he saw the beast in person today. so technically I haven't missed a day yet, and I don't plan on it.

and as far as the above comment about accountability: You are commuting for yourself and not for us. yes, the encouragment is a wonderful thing and I think we all enjoy it, but I don't think anyone but you is going to think any less of you if you miss a day. and even you shouldn't because lets face it, things happen, sometimes we feel like crap or we have things that we need to do that we can't or haven't found a way/will to do with the bike. but instead of feeling bad for a missed day, remember all the days that you are able to do it. if it becomes a matter of accountability then it loses some of the magic. just let it be and enjoy the days you ride!!!

I've ridden my bike every day so far this month; however, I will admit to asking my husband to pick me up a few nights when I've had to work REALLY late - mostly because I feel exhausted at the end of those LONG days.

Just an excuse, I know ... okay, I'll try to suck it up from now on!!!!

(I just inspired myself!)

Last week my bottom bracket came loose, and this week my rear tire exploded. did I say tire? I meant wheel. Ofcourse, they adjusted the brakes last week, when they fixed the bottom bracket. Maybe that caused me to put too much pressure on the rim. Do I get half a commute day for walking the last mile with about 40lbs of bike and gear on my shoulder? If I do im at 4.5 days, and not likely to make my ten for november.

You get an extra half day for not going the easy route and calling a cab or family to drive you to the LBS.

I'm at 100% so far this month. I even rode on one rainy Thursday where I had a cross town meeting late in the afternoon to early evening. I've only taken my regular Friday day off to replenish the clothing supply and make my cross town meeting back and forth. Even today, with 25mph winds and 60mph gusts (according to the morning weather report,) and my cracked tooth that I'm waiting on a dentist cancellation so I can get it repaired, I still rode in.

I've missed a total of 3 days this month. I'm bad at keeping track of ride days vs. total work days. I allow for one day to drive in so I can put fresh clothes in my locker. Since it's the third week and I've missed 3 days, I'm still on track for my goal.

Last Monday I carpooled from home up to a meeting at a motel, came home Wednesday. So, no travel Tues, no biking to office M or W, but I did bike w/ my kid to and from school on M, and from school W, so still did bike travelling every day this month I've travelled anywhere.

I may be using my back up bike on Friday. It's out of necessity, not choice. While washing my spiffy road bike I noticed a couple small cracks in my front and rear wheels radiating from the spoke holes. POS Bontrager wheels. I have tomorrow off, hopefully I can get a Mavic Open Pro wheelset from a Performance store nearby; gotta call em in the morning. I really hope I find a wheelset. I don't want to ride my MTB in, that thing is a P I G.

I had to take today off in case an appointment opens up with my dentist. I cracked a tooth, and need to get it fixed quick ('cause it hurts, a lot.) Riding home and showering, then trying to make it to an appointment wouldn't be a good idea, especially if it's short notice.

This week has been 4/4 so far - feeling good about going for a 5/5 tomorrow, then onward from there.

Yesterday could've been my off-day - I had a client meeting to attend, so had to doll-up with a shirt/tie - but those worked out OK in the backpack, just some more-than-normal care when folding the shirt and it came out pretty decently (it was previously ironed anyway).

I've learned eating and sleep is a lot more important and needs more attention now that I'm doing a crapload more physical work - damn sedentary jobs!

Ok, I didn't join at the beginning of the month, but I'm starting to feel like I need to join now. I don't own a car, and I really don't like taking the bus, so cycling the best/fastest/most fun way to get to work. But November is starting to feel like more of a challenge. So much rain. Anyway, I should get 19 commuting days out of a possible 21 in November. I missed two days right at the beginning of the month. I had an overnight work trip in Montreal (missed one day because of that, but I did load the stuff I was bringing on my bike and ride to work before the trip, and home from work after the trip) and I took the bus to work the next day because my aunt picked me up after work (so we could go the the airport and pick up my mom and my brother who came for my graduation that weekend). So 10 days down, 9 to go. Depending on the route I take I do 27-36 km/day. I only bought the bike at the end of June, so each new weather challenge is totally new to me. The theme for the month seems to be lots of cold rain and squashed worms everywhere. Oh yeah, and its dark. That's the other factor that's making it feel more challenging; I feel like I never get to see the sun any more.

Checking in: Have not missed a day yet. Of course, it helps that the 2nd car is broken down. I say "let it rot".
