helmet with built in lights? Or visor lights?
 

I saw a commuter the other day and it looks like he had 3 led lights in his helmet visor. Does anyone know of a product like this?

I was in my car at the time and was not able to ask the person I saw with this.

I saw an ad during the Kona Ironman telecast today for a Giro helmet that is coming out in the spring with the lights you are referring too. Looks interesting....

I haven't seen this particular set up in a helmet (I assume you are referring to LED headlights), but I just bought the Busch & Mueller TopFire LEDs for my helmet, which looks like a built-in system. It consists of four red LEDs designed to be mounted in the rear vents of the helmet and runs off a small CR2032 watch battery. The whole package weighs just 18g.

no point of buying helmet with built in lights as you crash, you gotta replace the whole thing

The Bell Metropolis has several optional accessories you can buy including a rear light that fits onto a place made specifically for a light; http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...t-20/ref=nosim. You can get the helmet cheaper then this by buying just the helmet and the flasher; this price includes the mirror and rain cover. Plus the helmet has a round design instead of a tear drop shape that the racers like; the rounder shape has proven to be a better safer design.

I only saw the front on the helmet on the commuter I saw, but those top fire light sure do look cool.

I agree Mr Bubbles, I was mainly just curious as to what it was that I saw on the helmet.

I am thinking about getting both the cap clip on light and the top fire rear lights.

I have one of those cateye safty lights, the ones on a band like that other picture, wrapped between the vents of my giro pneumo. I wave it in front of my wheel magnet to turn it on and off.

got my set from eBay, (PB) seems to be a very good bicycle oriented product-company!

There is a dude in Wisconsin who patented blinkie lights in the helmet.

I know that he got it made into hard -copy sample and I think he recently licenced or sold the patent to a major helmet maker, so we should be something interesting like that coming out soon.
