bah! Nighthawk raptor quit working

After my home brew lighting system got jacked I picked up the Night hawk 10w 6v Raptor light to replace it. Not as bright as my home brew was but it sufficed for commuting.
Well this morning when I was getting ready to leave work I took my bike outside so that the tires could cool down a bit before I hit the snow/ice. The bike sat outside for... 15 minutes maybe? In 10F. I clocked out, went outside, hit the switch, and the light came on. 10 seconds later it went out. dammi!!
I took the bike back inside the building to wamr it up. After waiting 15 minutes or so the light still wouldn't come on. So I taped a flashlight to the bars and headed hom. After I got home I took the system off my bike and in the house. when I woke up this afternoon the light still wouldn't come on. So I put my backup flasher on the front of my bike and came to work.
My nighthawk is sitting at home and I can't think of what might have happened to it.
Anyone have this experience? Could the bulb have blown that easily? I've only had the light for a few weeks so I know everything is still good. The battery has a fresh charge.
Today is my last day of work for 4 days so i'll have a few days to proke and prod at it.

That was my first light - still have it. The light switch was a miserable excuse for something that worked. I cut it out, and just use the plug / unplug method. Not sure it is a switch issue, but you probably have the testing equipment if you did a home-brew method. Check the voltage at the bulb.

I thought about having it replaced but might just remove the switch, so long as that is the problem.
i'd hate to have to send it in to them and wait wait wait

What if you remove the switch and it's not the problem? Then you are SOL on both counts.

Have you tried to contact Night Hawk?

Haven't contacted them yet, I've been at work (I work very very long hours on the days I work) since I woke up. I get home around 7:00AM now and have to leave for work at 3:00PM, leaves very little time for sleeping, eating, and spending time with the family.
As for your second question; lighting systems are very simple electrical devices. battery, wire, bulb. If I do decide to take the switch off rest assured that I'd rule out the battery and bulb as the culprits before hand.
