First Car Related Crash
So, first off, beyond a bruised behind I'm fine, but here's what happened:
It had been snowing all day, and the roads were starting to get nasty by the time I was getting ready to head out of work a bunch of the coworkers offered me a ride, I thanked them, but said this kind of weather is the fun weather. Apparently taunting the biking god's isn't the best idea.
So I'm about a mile from work, going along at a good clip, 20ish, and a car starts to pull out of a parking lot on my right, I shout, hit the brakes, and promptly lose it in the slush and come to a sliding stop about 2 feet from their front quarter panel. The woman meanwhile had also stopped(amazing I know) and rolled down her window to make sure I was alright. I put my chain back on, said yes, thanked her for checking on me, asked her to be more cautious in the future, and away I went. I think she was more shaken up by it than I was
Update: Should have gotten her info, my rear break is funky, sticking and the such, it looks like the spring for one of the sides is bent, should have gotten her info so she could pay for it if I can't fix it myself tonight. Do'h.

Glad you are not hurt. Sorry about the bike, but that is pretty fixable and, given that its the back brake, not totally necessary.
Did you go to the ground or stay upright? Hitting the car when upright is going to hurt, but it's the going to the ground part that is really dangerous.

I ended up doing a controlled crash into the ground. My other option would have been to attempt to swerve in front of the car as it made its turn (going left, across my lane to go in the opposite direction of my travel) and if the car hadn't stopped, that would have put me either into it's front quarter panel or it's grill, or I could have tried to turn to go behind it, but that would have put me into it's back end, and a bit to close to the rear-wheel for my liking.
