Wimp and a lier

The wimp part is I wimped out today and drove my car to work for the first time since mid. Oct. It was -7 deg. F this morning.
The lied part is my wife picked me up at work so I could get my car. So I left the bike at work. So when I get asked if I rode in this morning I tell the "YES" and if they don't believe go look and see if the bike is here.

In New England we have nine months of winter and three months of damned poor sledding.

you know you don't have to lie - just say something like - there's my bike right there when you're asked ...

Well, you rode in the car, so you didn't technically lie so long as they didn't ask if you rode your bike. The problem with letting people believe that you did is that this is the sort of thing they're likely to keep talking about (i.e. even if you didn't technically lie, you might wind up lying many times before this is all over)
