Strange sight while riding

1 Attachment(s)
Still not back commuting yet, but I try and ride as much as I can to recondition. Plus I finally got my fixie done. Anyway, as I was riding yesterday this struck me as rather strange. I won't make a quiz out of it, because the shot isn't real clear. In front of the garbage cans, with the blue writing on it is a bag of ice. Who throws away a bag of ice? I mean, look at all the snow on the ground. Wouldn't it be easier the just chuck it on the lawn? What difference would it make? Who would notice? Especially since we are getting another 8 inches of snow right now.

I know it's a free country and all... and that ice clogging up our landfills isn't a major problem. Okay, it is now. But it's only temporary. "Honey, the ice has gone bad. Could you please take it out cause it's trash day tomorrow." Man, that guy has got to put his foot down. Some one had to walk all the way to the curb with it.

Well, I guess they saw me take the photograph cause when I rode back about 20 minutes later the bag wasn't there. And it wasn't in any of the recycling bins either thank God. I hope someone didn't garbage pick that bag of ice. "Hey honey, that's a perfectly good bag of ice that they're throwing away. Let's snag it before someone else does."

Maybe it was a bag of meth and the buyer came and got it before your return.:D

What's funniest is that someone took a bag of ice from the garbage, and there's all that snow around.

Over on IceBagForums.net right now, they're talking about this crazy guy riding his bike in the snow.

I bet that bag of ice was in the freezer too long, and went bad. Nothing ruins a whiskey on the rocks like skunky ice!

maybe a social commentary on how much snow everyone is getting? although doesn't look like too much snow in the picture.

We were heading out to a Super Bowl party, and I was providing all the beer, and my wife asked, "Do we need to pick up ice for the cooler?". I got out the snowshovel, put one scoop in the cooler, and said, "NO".

Nothing ruins whiskey faster than putting ice in it.;)

Mmmmm, acid snow. I would never do that around here, one of the good things about snow in Salt Lake City is that it clears the air of pollution.

Thank you oilfreeandhappy. You are truely and inspiration. There is at least one guy who said "NO" to a wife. That means there is still some hope for man kind.

Yep, it was a day of thaw before the storm. Roads and sidewalks were mostly clear. About 3 inches of snow on the ground then and shrinking fast. The snow then ice storm hit later that night, so there is about another three inches of dense solid ice over everyting now. Got power back a few hours ago. I also got to see a tranformer blow. It was on the other side of a hill, but until I found out it was a tranformer, I was thinking UFOs. Never seen multicolored lightning before. Too bad it wasn't real lightning. I would like to hear what multicolored thunder sounds like.
