Source for Lumotec 2.4w bulb?

My LBS is asking $10 for a replacement 2.4w 6v bulb for my Lumotec headlight. Harris has 'em for $4.25, but shipping across country is another $9. Anyone know of a little better deal on these wee lamps either in Portland Or area or via mailorder/on-line? Thanks!

I have two standard flashlight (PR-base) halogen bulbs that I can sell you for $5 a piece if you're interested. They are rated 6V, 2.4 W, and came from the two Sigma Sport Ellipsoids I got. (I posted a mod about how I upgraded one of those lights to "see in the dark" levels a while back.)

Harris gets theirs from Peter White. I would call PWC and order a dozen of them -- they'll be expensive up front but it'll justify shipping and give you several years supply. Just make sure to store them gently, I've smashed a few.

Are you using a generator-powered taillight also? If not, you should switch the headlight bulb out for a 6v 3w, it'll last a lot longer. My 2.4w burned out after a few months, but once I switched it to a 3w it's lasted over a year. The 2.4w is stock with most powered headlights.

Peter White Cycles. Handy hint: order a bunch of them -- the postage will be the same, and you will have a supply that will last for years.

But don't ask Peter any questions if you didn't but the light from him!:p

I did some poking around in Peter's website and note he kindly offers to ship small things for 3$ if you send him postage. He has the bulbs for $4 so think I'll go that route. I do use this set up with a tail light, and got almost 2 years off first bulb, so if I get a few It'll do me just fine. Thank you for the suggestions and offers!
