lunchtime rides

How many of you ride on your lunch break? It's such a beautiful day today that I just can't resist. I just walked to the cafe, picked up lunch, and brought it back to the office. I'm suiting up now to hit the MUP for a quick half hour ride then back to the office to eat.

See you on the trail! :D

Just got back, the "Dogwood Springs" trail was my own little track bike speedway. I'm surprised there weren't more people out today!

I just got in from a Margarita, Salsa and Chips lunch. :) Well, not much of a lunch but felt like getting a drink and having some chips and salsa. So I cruised down to the local Mexican restaurant. It is such a nice day in middle Georgia. The skies are beautiful and the drivers are crazy. Also, its the first day for shorts and a tshirt. So nice. Anyone who has our luck, take advantage of it.

I take a 12.5 mile ride at lunchtime a lot of days (just now, for instance).

I've got an hour and a half between classes on Wednesday so I usually do some hill repeats in Twin Peaks going up to Sutro Tower from City College of San Francisco. Not a huge climb, but it beats sitting around and doing homework - on clear days you get a great view.

Only if I have chores to do, banking, shopping etc.

Sometimes I'll ride to a taqueria or to get a cake for a coworker's birthday. Noone else has the time to leave the salt mine, because they would have to walk to the ramp, drive out, go to their destination, find a parking spot, shop, then reverse the trek. I love the freedom. In balmier times, I love the ride too!

Sometimes I ride out to a restaurant to eat, then back. Fun stuff.

I work nights and there have been many a night where I go for a ride around the parking lot on my lunches or 15s.

Only mad dogs and English men go out in the noon day sun... especially in the tropics. I do my riding in the morning and afternoon when it is perfect.

In the summertime, I do 10km lunch break.

Before I retired, I rode home & back every day during my 1 hour lunch break. My one way 4 mile commute only took 15-16 mins on average.

I used to until some crackhead stole my leave-it-at-the-office bike

Good cheap eats are surprisingly sparse in downtown Chicago, so once a week or so (although never in the winter) I'll shoot out to Chinatown, Little Italy, Greektown, or Pilsen (Mexican neighborhood). Anyplace within 20 minutes or so offering tasty little bites. Or I'll pack a lunch and roll over to Millennium Park or the lakefront to chill in the grass with a book---but we're a couple of months away from that.

I ride to lunch all the time.

I had a job for a while where there was a group of guys who'd play basketball outdoors a few times a week at lunchtime. That was a hoot. I can't say, though, that I've ever done a lunchtime ride.

Just got back. I rode over the Sacramento into W.Sac. and up the River Road past the Yolo Weir. Pretty windy but I had a sweet sweet tailwind on the way back.
