I'm Recommending a backpack.
Osprey Stratos series.
I just got a Stratos 24, they make larger ones, & the thing is darn comfy, does have helmet clearance, & solves the sweaty back problem we'll all be running into as things warm up.

Osprey just makes great packs. As someone who has done quite a bit of backpacking and hiking for my young years, I've never seen an Osprey I didn't like.
I'm using an "epic" for my urban use right now. it's one of their less heavy duty models, though with Osprey, they can't seem to help making something I wouldn't mind taking into the wilderness. Very durable, very comfy, and tons of space. Kicks the butt of the North Face I used to use.

good call slvoid, i got my Osprey in about the same color as well ('tangerine') ,although the Osprey comes in more sizes & i still think i'd like the Ospreys suspension method better than the marmot. guess i need to get picks up in my post to be cool though, you did set the bar high.

+1 on the Osprey daytool packs. I have an Osprey Focus (slightly larger than the Flux) and I think it's the best daypack I have ever owned. I bought it for a hiking pack that I could take travelling on business trips and safely carry a laptop inside. It's great for bike commuting, I really don't notice that the pack is there when I'm riding. I put a Camelbak unbottle in the hydration/laptop sleeve. I have noticed the top of the pack sometimes bumps against the back of my helmet when I ride on the drops, but not enough to be annoying.
