PB Superflash?

Is this blinkie the same as the commuter's favourite, the Planet Bike Superflash? For all this time I've been reading how great it is and it now looks like I'll be able to get my hands on one here in the UK. Are there any fellow Brits with this light? How is it?

One more thing, how big a seatpost will this clamp on to? My Birdy/Bianchi has a 34.9mm post and an odd frame so there are no seat stays to clamp it on to.

Thanks

That's it. It comes with 2 clamps - the larger one is for seatposts, the smaller ones for seat stays. Not sure about min/max sizing though.

It can also be mounted to anything that has a "tab" or "lip" that you can slip it onto (many seat bags have a strip of fabric designed for that). However, that reduces the ability to aim the light, which can result in reduced effectiveness.

I always wondered, what is the correct way to aim this light? Should it be aimed towards driver's eyes for most motor vehicles or should they be aimed more level to the ground?

Straight into the eyes of the enemy!!!

And yes, that's the PB Superflash. I bought mine back in November or December and rode with it all through the dark days of winter here in SoCal. It is much brighter than any other light I've purchased in that price range...and I've purchased a bunch of cheap blinky lights over the years. :D

Thanks guys, looks like I'll buy it as long as the clamp is big enough. I was about to go for the Cateye TL-L1100, but this is about 1/3 of the price and still very bright.

Thats the European version of Planetbike Superflash. The real difference is the flashing pattern - UK version does not come with the unique blink-blink-BLINK pattern. Instead, it simply blinks all 3 leds together

I run two, and keep them as level as possible. With all the road variation and hills and whatnot I figure it's probably the best "on average" position.
