Those are some baby-butt-smooth streets those folks are riding on. That's not the sort of thing I'd do with $60 racing tires, but you can replicate that easily by leaning forward and locking up the rear wheel. More impressive is the two-wheel skid, where you lock up front and back. Not too tough on dirt, but on pavement it's a little dicey. In the snow - it's a blast!

Yea that's what I'm seeing too.... Drifting is NOT locking up your tires.

And if you want to be absolutely picky--drifting is only when you're sliding ALL your tires.
This is darn difficult to do on regular bicycle-width tires on pavement, but maybe if you had a bike built with the 4" Schwinn chopper rear tires on both ends maybe you could pull it off.

Looks fun. I'm impressed. I have to wonder if there are outtakes where his control is not quite as good.

Impressive... I had to wonder how the heck that's achieved so easily, heck my bikes grip way more than those seem to be (though I don't ride fixed) - very cool none the less. I laughed at the first one, it was just too cool, really cool (OK so it's not drifting but it's an interesting take on the skid scene) - I was thinking along the lines of lubed tyres too - seriously HOW do they do that so easily and keep the speed, heh...

Guy in the second vid looks as though he's skitching to start off with.

Last drift I did was a proper drift when I flatted in my rear and the backend went nicely out around a right turn - sucked for my tyre wall, but must've looked kinda neat.

I've not done skids like that in a long time (and never as good as the ones in the vid), but this makes me want to rekindle that fun

I never produce videos of myself ruining my tires, especially when I'm in a hurry.

That guy is an accident waiting to happen IMO. What if he skids around the corner, loses control and runs into something or someone.

He isn't even wearing a helmet.
