spring for the deal or save and wait?

Hi everyone

I am new here, and after much lurking, searching, and LBS visitation, I have narrowed my imminent bike purchase down to a flat bar fitness/commuter type in the Coda, FX, Sirrus, Castro Valley style. I am pretty convinced I like the idea of a steel frame, so that narrows it to Coda and Castro Valley.

I have an opportunity to get a like-new entry level Jamis Coda for a mere $350. The Castro Valley, which I liked, is twice the price. I have not ridden the Coda yet, but assuming it feels fine to my amateur skills, should I spring for the deal, or wait it out and spend a lot more on a better bike?

How "entry level" are those entry level components? How much should I care that it does not have eyeletted rims...my max weekly commute mileage would be 80 miles.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Joe

Go for that deal. Get the first one out of the way and start enjoying bicycle commuting. I'm pretty sure it won't be your last.
