What was in your letter to Santa?

Did anybody ask for any special new commuter/bike gear for Christmas? (Yeah I'm not Christian either--at least not anymore--but the tree is pretty and it makes me happy.)

Here's what I'm hoping for:

* CatEye TL-LD 1000
* Painfully bright yellow reflective winter waterproof breathable cycling jacket
* Winter riding gloves that are warm (and not just full-fingered)
* Gift certificate to City Bicycle Works
* Please steal my car

I asked my girlfriend to make me another felted cycling cap (with ear flaps this time) or a scarf with world champion stripes. I'm not sure if she remembered. I hope so. She got me my Swix lobster gloves as an early present already.

Tire levers, a tube patch kit, a decent headlight and taillight, and maybe a nice floor pump. I also asked for some tights.

Hopefully my Santas will get me some coffee, laundry detergent, breakfast cereal, stuff like that. But I didn't ask for anything in particular. If I want nice toys, I buy them myself. L&M ARC HID headlight, etc.

Last week I told Mrs. Santa about a list of repairs my best bike needed: broken spoke, both wheels trues, Cantilever pads replaced and adjusted, fraying shifter cable, bad rear tire. This PM she said Merry Christmas up to $100.00. The local road bike shop chief mechanic lookd at the list, the bike, my membership in a local club, and my record of buying from them. He then threw in a new set of handlebar tapes and said sales tax would bring it to 100.00. Yes Patricia there is a Santa Claus.

P.S. the tires have almost 7000 miles on them.

I asked Santa for a heavy riding jacket, some tools, some tubes, and some tires. I can finish building a new commuting bike. I just hope I made it on Santa's good list, or atleast my wife's good list. Happy Holidays. Have a good night.

I asked grandma and grandpa "Claus" for a rain jacket, a cycling cap (for the rain), a computer and big seat wedge (for my road bike). With the money I get for Christmas, I'll get my basic winter clothes and all of the my summer clothes now and more/better winter stuff when my birthday rolls around in May.

Getting new Paul Touring and Neo-Retro cantilever brakes for my upcoming supertourer, as well as a new Brooks B-17 Champion Special titanium rails saddle.

I may also be getting a Bell Metro helmet, but I'm not sure.

i sent my letter to the elves at Rivendell Bicycles 4 months ago!
Looks like my Atlantis won't be under the tree until after the new year though. That's what i get for asking for custom paint. Oh well.
Meanwhile I asked Santa for a frame pump and a Bell Metropolis helmet.

Santa brought me a new commuter jacket. Yay! Thanks, Santa! The illuminated fabric is miraculous. The black parts look black in the daylight, but they glow like magic when lights hit them. I hope everybody got what they wanted!

Not a single thing. I already spend enough on cycling gear. Anyways....2 plane tickets and a dart board are enough for me.

I am receiving a end of year bonus in Jan. Depending on the amount, my list is:
1) Eggbeater pedals
2) Clipless mtb shoes
3) Cycling jacket
4) New headlight
5) Cyclocomputer

My list probably needs a bit of shortening unless my bonus compares to last years $500.

I asked Santa to talk to the doctor about changing my "it's ok to ride again" date, because driving to work is killing me.
The doctor told me before the surgery I would be off the bike for 3 months. I had the surgery 4 weeks ago today and feel good. I still don't have full mobility and strength in my shoulder yet, but I'm hoping it will return soon.

My physical therapist is working with 2 other cyclists (in addition to the regular patients he has) and said cyclists are "hard core". He tells us to do an exercise and we get it done. His other patients get half way through the exercise and say they can't do any more because it hurts.
Maybe the doctor will see what my physical therapist sees and "parole" me 30 days early.
