yeah. i would have to agree with you. tonight i'm riding up the hill out of downtown to turn onto my street in the bike lane and this guy on a mtb is going the wrong way on a one way street coming straight at me. when he gets close enough to see that i'm not getting out of the bike lane he swerves around me to my left (closer to oncoming traffic) and waves at me gingerly like he did nothing wrong at all and like he was happy to see another bicyclist.
it was a big wtf moment for me...but the more and more i ride, the more i see stuff like this happen. i just try to not be one of the many idiots out there.
and...cars are still far far worse.

am i not allowed to wear cotton on my commute?
appu, you've been commuting 3 months. give yourself a few decades, maybe you'll see the rest of the bicycling community in a different light.
and guess what? there will always be drivers that hate bicyclists, regardless of how bicyclists ride.

I never said that. Spare me your injured pride and cotton ****s. I wear cotton shorts and a running tee when I ride 'cuz I sweat like a pig. See post #87 for my clarification before you jump down my throat.

I got hit the other day by a van. The guy passes me, starts to slow down (with no blinker on) and decides to cut me off into a gas station. He didn't give a flying F*** that he did it. I was in shock because he completely passed me... Hello? Didn't you just pass somebody riding a bike next to you when you turned?
Stupid people are both on bikes and motor vehicles. 9 times out of 10 I obey the rules will riding a bike, but I'm probably one of the few I see. People just don't care. Drivers encourage cyclist to break the rules. It's crazy.
What drives me crazy is people riding their bike on the sidewalk. If I was a cop I'd bust people all day for that. I understand there are times when it's unsafe to ride on the street, but when there is a bike lane.... Fricken use it! sideWALK.... not sideRIDE.
be safe everybody.

oh, if there are signal pads in the intersection.... put your tire on the line of the pad. They are triped by metal https://www.humantransport.org/bicycl.../detection.htm

In my opinion this gives bikers a worse reputation than running red lights, or maybe i just care more about pedestrians than automobiles.
