Me And My Trek 7.3 Are A Match.

This is my first post since my first post but thought I'd pop in to say how much I've grown to like this bike. When I first got on it I thought I'd never get used to it as it feels nothing at all like my old bike. Now it feels weird when i get on my old bike...Anyway,here's a couple pics from one of my short journeys. It's when I snuck into an old Trailer Park Boys set a few weeks ago early one Sunday morning...I am a Trek fan now....

Here's my first post and by the way thanks for your advice back then....

I know I'm nobody here but I figured this would've gotten more replies..Hmm..

Thats good stuff dude.

Did you pack that rod and reel out there?

tompetty 07-30-07 06:51 PM

I'm not sure I know what you mean by 'pack' as I'm not too used to the all the cycle jargon yet:D, but it was a telescopic rod. I say was because on that trip I went to get on the bike and broke the tip off of the rod. I've since bought another rod that fits inside the pannier..

What handle bars do you have? I also have a 7.3 and love it, but I use it as my fitness bike. It is a great one, although I find the shifting a tad unresponsive.
Nice pics.

tompetty 07-30-07 07:19 PM

The bars are called'crowbar'..Mine shifts like butter but I'm not hard on it either. Even on a hard uphill I can lay off enough to shift...My average speed is only 16 Km's...

Looks like a good stock pile of parts under the stairs in the 7th picture your posted.

Good eye, I missed that pile under the stairs on my first look through.

i have a 7.3 and am considering bar ends. it looks like yours are profile design. what model are they and are you happy with them? did you keep the stock grips?

KnoxBreezer 07-31-07 07:34 AM

Lookin good!

I can't tell you how much we love that show, must be pretty cool to sneak around the set like that.

Love the Trailer Park Boys set photos! Now, if we could just see you riding around with a rum n' coke :)

Not enough folks in the States have seen TPB.

I have a buddy in Halifax and he sent me a DVD of the first season. That show does, indeed, rock. Like a low-rent version of 'My Name is Earl' without the redeeming morals.

The Trek looks nice. Is it stick? Did it come with fenders etc? What light are you using? Likes/dislikes of the bike?

To be honest I don't know one set of bar ends from anther but I got these and I'm satisfied with them...

And I did keep the stock grips though at first I didn't think I was going to as they're not as cushioned as my old ones but they've grown on me..

Stick? Do you mean stock?.If so, I guess it is..When I decided on the bike, I picked out the fenders, bar ends and rack and told them to install them I'll be back in four hours to pick it up. They didn't charge me to install them. The light..hmm...It's ok for what it is. It's definitely no good for off road or high speeds but it's ok for me. I like the four hour run time nd four hour charge time. I wish i'd gone for the two light style in the second link and I'll probably pick up something for the helmet....

Nothing really that I don't like about the bike. It's suits my needs. I did swap the seat from by old bike as the ass splitter that this came with didn't cut it for me. And I ain't a big guy,5'11-175 lbs. And I think I'll swap the pedals because I prefer a platform style..
