Rack recommendation. . .
Can anyone recommend a rear frame that attaches where the rear brake caliper is attached to the back of my frame. I know I've seen this type of frame somewhere but can't remember where. I'm trying to avoid putting a clamp on the bike. I don't know if I explained what I was looking for very well as I'm not completely bike savvy, but any help would be appreciated.

Try Old Man Mountain. They specialize in racks for suspension bikes.

Scott Where you say "frame", do you mean "rack"? Old Man Mountain racks can attach to the brake bosses for cantilever brakes, but I'm not aware of a rack that uses the hole where caliper brakes attach to the frame. Maybe check out thetouringstore.com to see what they have. |
I really don't know what I'm talking about. But, I found this rack while searching around which I think is the type I'm talking about. It's too expensive and I'd have to import though. . .

Yes! that's the kind of rack I'm looking for. Sort of. . .I'm still looking for something a little larger than that though. I don't know if that type of mounting is only found on really light weight racks or what.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far. |
Also, the cheaper the better. I don't think I can spend more than around $80 for the rack.

Giles Berthoud. Thanks, they actually provides pretty good coverage, and they've held up real well too. |
