Wishful Thinking?

I am all for people turning a dime on Ebay, but this bike seems a little overpriced. Although the idea of having a bike that goes 60+ MPH makes it seem worthwhile.

Maybe the people that are bidding for it think that it is the actual bike that won the tour de france. Maybe.

That's a very old new bike. Although I doubt anyone will bid. Notice he doesn't have a bites yet.

They're not going to get a bid on it. It's amazing to me how much some people think they can get for stuff on eBay. What do you want to bet that if the seller were going to buy that bike they'd want to get it for $50? My favorite part are the dimensions given.

"Top crossbar to ground: 8.2 cm"

That's a standover height of about 3.2 inches! Who's going to ride it?

It's the turbo saddle and handlebars pointed at obnoxious angles. That's the secret.

Who is more to blame:

The idiot that puts junk on e-bay, claims it can go 65mph, and asks way too much for it?

or the idiot that WILL buy that bike, for way too much and expect it to go 65mph?

And it will happen.

I feels to me like e-bay does not seem to represent the general market place any longer. At least not in the cycling category. The things I see people buy and the prices they're paying is astonishing.

If he lives in PA like the ad says, maybe he took it to the top of the highest mountain he could find and rode it down I-80. Maybe that would get him to 60 mph. I like those flat pedals with no toe clips too.

The seller is dreaming. Ok bike, but I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it.

I like Centurions quite a bit so I am always on the scout for a super cheap one, but when I came across that at work the other night I laughed so hard it hurt.

What is sad is that here in Orange County you constantly run into people selling old garage sellable bikes for that should be going for around <$50 for $250+...even Centurions. It isn't just Ebay that is getting out of touch with reality about pricing.
