Fuji Absolute SX

Is there something wrong with these bikes?? My mountain bike(DB Response) was stolen. So in market for a new bike. I decided I was using it more to go to work, gym, etc.. less then 4 miles one way. So decided to look at the cummuter, more upright style bike. The road bikes with their aggressive leaning over style kinda scares me, LOL.

I've looked at the Trek 7.2, 7.3 and the Fuji Absolute SX . It would seem the Fuji components are way superior to the Trek's. But I can not find out much info, good or bad about this bike.

I said the road bike style scares, but I also still want some speed. Found out on the mountain bike I fought the front shocks a lot when I really wanted to get moving.

So any opinions?? btw the Fuji is on sale for $799.. $300 off... Thx

Maybe because there's only an LX and DX on their website. No SX.

The shop I work at sells Fuji and I'm pretty familiar with both the LX and DX. I really hate the brakes on the DX, they feel like crap. The LX is a pretty badass bike. The ones we've sold have never come back for even minor repairs. Both of them have adjustable stems that are borderline garbage, so I'd recommend swapping those out, unless you really like them. They typically just come loose. I also dislike the gripshift on the DX, but that's just me being a snob.

I know nothing about the Trek, or their goofy number system.

The Sx does not come with the grip shifters... And it had a solid stem(if that's what you call it)... Comes with 105's also

I had an '04 Absolute(the other bikes in the line had different names). The only thing I didn't like was the alloy fork, but they all have cromo or carbon now.

Can someone recommend another bike that has the options this bike has that is better??

There is a Fuji Absolute SX. I have one for commuting and I like it. For some reason it is not on Fuji's site. I don't think there is another comparable flat-bar roadie bike at this price point. (I got mine at a smokin' deal of $695.00.) It has a carbon fork and seat stays, which makes the ride pretty smooth. And it has 105 10 speed. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Jamis' Coda line,Specialized Sirrus line, and Marin's ALP line are all the same style with different levels of components.

I'd like to see one. I'm a big fan of Fuji bikes. They don't get the cred they deserve.

If you don't mind going with bikesdirect, you can get a similarly spec'ed Motobecane Cafe Noir for $699.
