Rear rack taillight mount for Performance Viewpoint Flashpoint?
Here's an e-mail I just sent to Performance; maybe some of you can help:
I just bought the Performance ViewPoint Flashpoint Taillight (http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=4322), which seems to be great. The only problem is that it doesn't come with a rear rack mount, and my seat post is already taken by my seat bag. The webbing clip, which could attach to the bag, doesn't keep the light at the right angle. Do you (they?) make a rack mount? If not, how can I mount the light *very securely* to my rack, while also being able to unclip it when I leave the bike? Ideally, the Viewpoint would come with one of these: http://ecom1.planetbike.com/3108.html. If the accessory is not available, could you tell me if the Viewpoint would fit the Planet Bike Rack Bracket? p.s. Anybody tried glue? |
I have a rack (topeak with the rail) and that light. Use an l bracket from homedepot and a couple of machince screws, nuts and washers.
I'll post a picture, however I just used junk I had lying around, the bracket is from an old satellite speaker stand, the nuts and bolts are leftover from the ones that came with the rack and the light, I just hacked up the post mount. http://turpens.com/blog/wp-content/u...23-07_2134.jpg |
