More than likely you have noticed the server problems from time to time. The traffic on this site is enormous and the second most popular cycling forum. Now that we have the lighting/electronics and utility sections I have been surfing more just for pertinent bicycle information. Not to mention Foo.

So, sorry to be long-winded. I surf alot.

Well, I think the average person reads more than they post... I know I do...

Now, look at the Public profiles of the posters here, look at total posts and average posts per day...

You will see that I browse WAY too much!!!

A fair amount, although I've been using it as a reward for myself after finishing tasks throughout the day. To be perfectly honest, I don't know how people made it through the work day without the Internet.

Are we allowed to ask what the most popular forum is? Not that I need any more distractions.

I work with web-based systems, so I always have a window open for BF. I also spend my day on the phone, so while it rings I'm browsing BF. You could pretty much say I surf it all day, every day!

A lot... so much so that my Boss mentioned it to me on MSN because I wasn't doing him a favour during work time

I read more than I post, and tend to ramble (like now) pretty much I only go to Commuting, SS/FG (I'm yearning for the day I join the FG ranks ) and Eastern Canada right now though.

So what number is he using for ranking?

http://forums.mtbr.com/ has this one beat in both threads and users. Would that make this one third, not second?

More than enough. As a sysadmin, I keep one eye on (monitoring/backup jobs/patching/work-things) and the other on (BF/a.net/LJ//./non-work-things). Don't tell the boss, though.

Internet connection + bikeforums + trying to do homework = bad news.

I also obsessively check for new postings on bikesnobnyc.

I average 3 posts a day, apparently, but I'm trying to get up to 10.

I also read many more threads than I post in.

D'oh! Although, looking at their active members, it appears that they don't prune their inactive members, hence the high member count and lower post count, and dismal active count.

Absolutely zero. No computers out amid the wine tanks and barrels. Even with the few who have access it is still zero. Corporate tracks all computer usage and slams you hard for anything not business related. Another reason I do not drink Fosters'. BTW they own our winery.

Only during my lunch break. Basically I only read/partcipate in threads that interest me. A lot of the questions and answers haven't changed that much over the years, so I just skim through a lot of stuff.

occasionally I will surf or print documents. As a "foreman" so to speak, I try to stay busy and help where I can. Lead by example, blah, blah, blah. Half the time I don't even take breaks. I feel a little guilty about my desk time when most everybody else stands while working.
