PSA Attempt #1

(Somewhat crossposted)

So it's short, not illustrated and with no voice over... but I made what I would like to hope becomes a series of public safety announcement-style videos.

What I aim to do is cut out parts of my commutes/riding where I happen upon common "what do I do" situations on the road, and, by showing in my riding, and perhaps extra editing, how to possibly deal with them (obviously not going to be a "YOU MUST DO IT THIS WAY" but just as suggestions, etc.) - I by no means think I'm a super safe cyclist, I just intend to show good examples of how to handle "scary" or avoid those icky situations we can find ourselves in.

The TT thread today inspired this idea along much faster, the shots were from my ride home tonight.

For reference for the second part of the above, the camera is on the right side of my helmet so it looks like I'm closer to the curb than I actually am.

Comments/thoughts?

What's your intended audience?

Good question, I've no idea. I haven't really put much thought into it, figured I'd try and gather ideas and some bodies on bikes to put some clips together eventually.

I guess "general audience", meaning, anyone who is thinking of or has already started riding their bike in traffic / on the roads edit: and is looking for guidance/tips (as people as here re: filtering, etc. sometimes)

With enough people we can take over the world! By that I mean, with enough people from varying areas, we can get some good world-wide area specific cycling tips/hints as well as general cycling skill tips.

To me it comes off as a b*tch-fest about vehicles who are doing you wrong than anything educational about cycling in traffic. Dropping the sarcasm fromt the messages would help.
