That wouldn't happen to be Eric, would it? I'm figuring you must gravitate to U City with the Big Shark connection.

I'd like to see pics of your CC when you have time.

Very very nice and clean! You'll need to work on that. All black like my "black sheep" road bike. Don't let DigitalGee (DG) find out - he favors white bikes and calls ours anti-bikes.

Reposting Bike Porn

For those who asked, here are the pics of my crosscheck from last September. It doesn't look quite so shiny but she rides like a dream.

I'll have to repost pix of mine in about a month and a half when we move. Our new place has a garage, so I can pose a 'proper' picture of my bike in front of a white garage door.

Thanks for all of the nice comments.

BTW, just for accuracy's sake, I switched out the Avid Shorty 4's for Tektro Oryx brakes. They don't squeek and are also more responsive.

Dang! Nice bike! And a Nikon D200 besides? Those credit cards must really be hurting!

(I have a Nikon D40)

I have to go wipe the drool off the keyboard now...

I have a photography business so the D200 is actually my backup body. At least those pay for themselves. ;-) Of course, the bikes do too!

I had Shorty 4s for a brief while...they shrieked like a banshee. Next time I go for cantis I'll keep in mind Oryx.

I run Avid Shorty 6's with Kool Stop Salmon pads on my cross-check. I heard the Avid Wrangler stock pads shrieks. Turns out the Kool Stop Salmon pads squeaks like crazy. After a couple months, I finally couldn't take it anymore and went to look for a solution. After toeing in the brakes a little more the squeaks have subsided.

Well, these are truly quiet, half the price and they feel a lot more responsive; so it's a ringing endorsement. I got a set from bicycle supply for about $38 including shipping, an ebay store that provided very good advice.
