My car is embarrassed
I had to have my muffler replaced so I left it at the Midas the other night. I picked it up today after work and rode my bike out there to get it, vs. taking Metro out (Rosslyn to East Falls Church). I bike to work almost every day so it's no special thing, but...heh. Sorry Car. Bike saved your tailpipe. You were just sitting there twiddling your cams until Bike helped you out. You owe him one. Don't be embarrassed, everyone needs a hand now and then. :D
Okay, be embarrassed a little. But it was nice of you to give Bike a ride home. I'll see you next week at grocery time. |
Somebody needs to see the doctor

I did the same thing today, only it was a broken catalytic converter. It's how to imagine how one can possibly own a car without having a bike to help it out.

When I still had my truck, I rode my bike on more than one occasion down to the auto parts store to pick up parts for it (Let me tell you: A 30 lb starter is NOT comfortable to be carrying in a backpack!)
That's part of what made me realize that I didn't NEED the truck. :D |
Uh...ok

I took my car to the mechanic once w/ the bike on the roof rack. Took the bike off and rode to work. Then rode back to the mechanic, put the bike back on the rack and drove home. One of the owners was admiring my bike (the IRO) and said it looked pretty sweet.

My car is always embarrassed by my bike. It knows the bike is worth more. ;)

I do it all the time. I take my big work truck into the local dealer/shop to be serviced, take the bike out and ride off to my wife's shop. Ride back down around lunch time and pick it up. I have even walked it a couple of times (all of 14 blocks) The people at the dealership seem shocked that I ride or walk that far:rolleyes: Jeeze people the freakin' town is only 12 square miles and almost flat. I can ride from one end to the other and side to side in less than 15 minutes!

I carry a folder in my car as a lifeboat.
|
Oldfool, that makes perfect sense to me somehow.
|
Hee. The first post in this thread made me smile. And the "folding bike as lifeboat" bit made me spit on the keyboard. I love it!

Yeah, I stopped by the dealer a couple of years ago to pick up a rear spindle for my Taurus. Not too bad, it only weighed about 12 pounds. That's the heaviest part I've had to pick up recently. The car has never been out of commission, I just don't drive it much.

LOL!!!!!! Good stuff!

I picked up an Intake manifold for my wifes Crown Vic the other day. I used ratchet straps to attach it to my camel back and rode about 6 miles.
My car died about 6 months ago. Maybe from neglect? Could it be it was to lonely in the driveway and it wanted to join others in the scrap yard? |
