No more stink

My workplace is finally installing showers. I have a 10km commute which I can now extend to a longer commute. Woo Hoo!!! Just thought I'd share.

Y'know, I've sort of become fond of the smell of antibacterial Wet Ones, myself. If I actually had to shower after getting to work, I suspect I've have to leave a lot earlier.

I had showers at my prior employer, although now I'm on the four cold baby wipes/day program.

I will have showers available again in March or April. I honestly cannot wait.

I've got showers and don't even use them. My commute is only 6.5 miles. And it's practically all down hill (on the way to work). Baby wipes work fine for me.

My commute is only six miles or so, but I like the ability to ride hard and take the long way in (up to 20 miles) and be able to shower when I get there.

Also, there's nothing better than a hot shower after a -15F winter commute.

Baby wipes? Really? I don't think I'd want to wipe my sweaty nether-regions with one of those... Does it really work? I've been kinda sweating as little as possible, changing my clothes at work, and just washing my arms, neck, and face. But baby wipes... hmmm...

I get to work kind of early and sit down at my desk for 15 or 20 minutes while I cool off. Once I'm back at room temperature, I then go use the baby wipes and apply a new layer of deodorant.

I also don't ride in my work clothes, so I change at the same time. Works well, but it's not near as perfect as a shower when I arrive.

They're not perfect, but they're better than nothing. I've got showers at work, so I don't use 'em here; but when I'm on a long backpacking trip I always make room for a couple travel packs of baby wipes. My camp at InterFuse had a few bulk containers of them for the weekend, and we just called them "shower in a box."

I have an incredibly short commute but like showering after I get to work. It saves a little on my home water bill and is just a nice way to end any ride. The really nice thing about having showers at work is that you can go out for lunch time rides and get nice and cleaned up again before going back to work.

I use wipes (with a little alcohol added for germ-massacre purposes) and change shirts when I get to work. I don't wear anything special on my 6-miles-one-way commute. No complaints yet.

I use a small towel (kitchen towel size). I just soak it in water and rub down. That works way better than wipes in my opinion, although I keep some wipes just in case I forget a towel. I have a shower at work, but am too lazy to walk all the way over to the other side of the building to use it. I'm willing to ride 13 miles to work, but not willing to walk 50 yards to the shower. Go figure.

My commute is so short (1.5 mi) and mostly down hill that in cooler weather I can ride in work clothes and not sweat on the way in. During the summer when I first started here I wore my HHCMF shirt and shorts and did the 'sit 10 minutes, wipe, change' routine that has been mentioned already.

My company is looking at relocating our small office to another building with showers. I am not that thrilled due to the fact that I would need to lockup outside but showers would be nice.
Not to mention the cafeteria and gym in the same building.

Nah, it only takes me about 10 minutes to shower and change into my work clothes.

I also have about a 6 mile commute. I'm looking forward to at least doubling it come spring. Once they get the showers installed I'm considering giving winter commuting a try. My only concern is getting caught at work during a winter storm. We tend to get some pretty good lake effect squalls.

I never shower at home during the week, I just do it at work after my ride. Baby wipes just replace one stink with another.
