I GOTZ DE SNOW! | Got snow?

Ok, T.O just got dumped ~25cm / ~9.8 in and I managed to snap some photos but I could not get my videos uploaded so photos are better then nothing.

Snow pics

I'm interested in what everyone else has around thier area if they're snowing. I love snow. Tho shoveling it was a bugger before with the slip'n'slide but this year I got me some 'claws' and let me tell you I have a rather sloped (some would call steep) driveway and with the freezing rain a while ago after the snow melted in the warm day, refroze, then with the freezing rain I had a virtual ice rink on the driveway. So I thought I'd try the footwear out giving the conditions are perfect for what the product was designed for. I got on the level porch first and did not have any slippage then which my normal footwear would slip. Then I went on the slopest part of my driveway walking up and down and did not slip at all. Hell I left some pretty neat bite marks. A bit pricy at ~$60ish CDN when I bought it but given the pain/recovery/medical costs of a fall I would say it is an excellent investment. However they do make a lot of noise but reassuring noise that is.

Anyways enough of that. If you have snow lets see some pics. Bonus internets for the folks riding out in the thick of it or in the trails.

Lucky you!! I can't wait to go home to Michigan and have some snow in 4 days, my mom says they just got about a foot :)

I wasn't quite sure how much it snowed... but 25cm seems to be a good guess :-D

here are my shots... I took a quick ride out to highpark in the afternoon. Did a ton of shoveling once I got back home.

The first set is before it really hit. (night ride)
The second set is after the major dump of snow. (daytime)
Needless to say, I couldn't get too far in this major snow storm. One lap around highpark was the best I could do.

I wonder.. has anyone actually done snow shoveling with a bike before? Like the shovel bike mounted? Interesting thought and if someone has I'd like to see it.

Wel it's a guess on the amount of snow we got. Weather reports from a few channels and radio said ~25cm. I'm north of the city so I am in the dividing line of heavy and moderate snow. If you're deep downtown then you won't get as much as I would. Then again if you're up in Barrie I think they got ~50cm/~19inches (over a foot).

The bike shop Proteus Bikes in College Park, MD, has a bike-powered snowblower and lawnmower on display. Totally awesome. I'm not sure if they actually get used, as the shop has no lawn and we don't get a whole lot of snow here.

By the way, Zero Enigma, I don't think you're actually north of the 49th parallel. That's only the US/Canada border west of the Great Lakes... Toronto is somewhere around the 43th parallel! Sorry to disappoint :D
