Free Money

You've all seen it lying in the road. :p Where does it come from?

BroadSTPhilly 01-18-08 12:38 PM

My brother

My brother used to lose money all the time. I guess it has to go somewhere.

You can't stop for money you have to go faster! It is an obvious trap set by that big SUV lurking around the corner. It is gonna pounce you!

Hole in pants pocket?

truman 01-18-08 02:04 PM

it falls out when you pull something else out of your pocket.

I found US$65 once, back in the early 90's. 3 twenties and a five, scattered over about 30 feet.

I found $600 on the side of the road once. The wallet was a few feet away, I went through it and found the owner and returned it. He said that he accidentally left it on the roof of his truck and just figured he'd never see it again.

Cats do not provide milk or wool or meat.

Not in the USA . . . but don't discount some Asian countries.

A similar situation for me last November. The thing is, I still ride by that spot very slowly just looking... and looking...

DXchulo 01-18-08 08:26 PM

I've never seen any while riding, but just a couple days ago I found $1 when I was walking. From time to time I see pennies that are actually stuck in the pavement. How can I get those out? I need that money. ;)

ItsJustMe 01-18-08 08:38 PM

I've only ever found a wallet, once. Never any loose money. I looked in the wallet to find the owner, but as they were way down in Toledo, I just dropped it by the police station on my way by.

The Money Fairy!

I lived in a college town outside of Philly. Their big get drunk nite was
Thursday. On Friday when I would go to work Id always find money and
stuff along the parking row. When it was time to leave and they were slobbering
drunk they would pull their keys out and all the stuff they shoved in their pockets in
their stupor would fall all over the road.

I once found a little over $300 in a roadside ditch laying around and in a woman's pocketbook. She had left her pocketbook on top of her car while getting gas and drove off forgetting about it.

I remember when I was about ten years old. I found about a dozen-fifty dollar bills all ripped in half and not one of them match the other ones.

I've found a waist pack belonging to a diabetic once, and some random $1's and $20's. I figure the diabetic lost it, the rest was just a tip for being eco friendly.

I lost 30 dollars out of a jersey pocket (had a hole in it, it turns out) a few months ago. Today I received a refund check from the University for 30 dollars. Then I went and bought a new helmet, on sale, for 30 dollars.

Clearly it's a sign.

cradduck 01-19-08 06:12 PM

Most I have ever found is $20 at one time but I am still hoping to come across a drug deal gone bad and $5 million in a black suitcase.
