My LBS here said they heard of the new law but said they may not be participating. If I have some legal document from a goverment website I can walk in and drop them a copy then pick up some stuff cheaper.

I can't imagine why a LBS wouldn't participate. After all, it means they can sell a bike for a few bucks less which can only help sales.

Starting on December 1, 2007, the Ontario government will exempt bike helmets and other safety equipment from retail sales tax (RST). Bikes costing $1,000 or less will also be exempted.
Hmm... I wonder /IF/ there is a defined list of the 'safety equipment' so I know what I can save more on. Anyone else up for the list hunt?
