Going commando - does this count?

I rode to the U on Thursday, and went to the restroom to change. I pulled off my shirts (all four of them, it was cold) only to find that I had forgotten to put on a sports bra before I got dressed!! Clearly, wearing 4 shirts offered me enough support that I didn't really notice (it's not like I was jogging)!
So, I think it counts as the girl equivalent of going commando! What do you think?

No, not quite. When you go commando you should be able to feel that your "stuff" is loosely packaged. If you did not realize that you forgot some of the packaging then it could not have had that commando feel.

I do applaud the effort

When girls go commando, they don't feel more loosely packaged than other times. And even for boys, don't they feel their package is pretty compact in the bike shorts?

I would think it would be easier to breathe without a band of elastic around your chest.

Whereas guys go "freeballing", I've known girls to refer to this version as "freeboobing".

I have forgotten to bring boxers to work with me, and the choice is to wear bike shorts under the khakis or go commando.

Boxers aren't far from going commando already; they just keep the pants a little more funk-free.

Boxers do help to eliminate chafe (chaife? chaffe?), but there's still the swing and knock effect.
Perhaps if one does not notice the lack of a sports bra, then said sports bra is not needed.

don't worry, i'm a huge fan of the "athletic" build on women.

So how long did you ponder before deciding to post this? LOL

Let's see... Thursday to Sunday?

But... congrats on riding Thursday!

I drove because I was really tired. Seriously... stop snickering...

I live close to the UofM. The next time you're riding in sans support, I would be happy to meet and give you my unbiased opinion.

OK, you people are sick.

FWIW Madfinch, dressing for winter defies conventions when it comes to that sort of thing. A while back I was watching my wife dress to go running on a cold winter's morning. She had a full schedule that day and was in a hurry. She already had a base layer on and then put a jogging bra on top of that.

I didn't say anything but gave her an odd look. She told me that it worked just fine like that (like she did it on purpose), although my guess is that she put things on in the wrong order and was just too lazy or in too much of a hurry to redress in the conventional way.

I made some snide comment about never seeing an arrangement like that in a Victoria's Secret catalog and she remarked that other women's "arrangements" shouldn't be something to concern myself with and then I think she threw something at me (not hard).

As far as commando goes, I think with 4 layers you're pushing the definition I thought for women it meant wearing a skirt and nothing underneath (not recommended for cycling), but then I married a person who considers a bra to be a legitimate 2nd layer so what do I know?

You guys make me laugh. Is it ironic that I never thought to ask the guy who posted the commando thread a while back for pics?

But if you all are really that dense, I can find 4 of my shirts and photograph them for you. Would that help?

So a woman makes a conscious effort to go onto a forum site to let everyone know that she rode her bike braless. Do you suppose maybe she's looking for a little bawdy attention? This is no time to take the high road.
