Hi,
The Pashley Guv'nor as well as the Phantom are available in the US now. Pashley has a US Distributor, Belmont Distribution, which is my company.

I just received a couple of Guv'nor's to check out before the big shipment arrives in two weeks, they are fun to ride and look sharp.

I have some more pictures and specs on them and the Phantom as well at https://www.britishbicycle.com/pashley

BB

This is a great idea. I have been stressing about getting out on my race bikes - not enough time to train. I think I will take my cruiser which I normally ride to work, out for a random ride.

Still.... any ideas?
Buy a cruiser with at least 7 speeds and a deraileur, then buy a freewheel or cassette with an 11t gear in it. Should be plenty fast, faster if you change the chainwheel to a 48t (most will come with a 44t chainwheel...can't go bigger than 48t though, not enough clearance).

Pricey though.
The Rans bikes are light and comfortable. I have a Rans Cruz. It originally weighed 28 lbs. I switched the handlebars and put some cruiser style bars on it. I also swapped the brakes to disk brakes, added a rear rack, and added fenders. I'm sure that it weighs a little more now, but it still feels light to me.

While I like the Cruz model, it has a longer wheelbase than other models. For everyday commuting I would consider a model with a shorter wheelbase for quicker handling and precise sharp turns. The Street and the Citi (or City) come to mind.

here's a couple of cruisers that are very fast- Downhill!
even more so with a load of groceries!

My current one is the one on the right- I'm going to put some deore/mavic mtn hoops on there, some 60PSI Town and Countries, at least a LX 9 and possibly a triple front.
Now those are some nice bikes. Love all the basket capacity, too!
