WIGGLE don't haggle (about refunds)

Bought a 700 x 35c Vittoria Randonneur Cross from wiggle.co.uk. (Portsmouth)

The inside circumference was undersize to the point of damaging the rim fitting it with steel levers. Pinched tubes etc, No way to risk this performance if you get a flat while commuting.
I emailed Wiggle customer service.

They took it back immediately for an full refund including postage.

Their prices are great. And customer service like this proves they stand behind what they sell. Which in this day and age of busted out banks and guarantees not worth the paper they're written on is something.

I've heard good things about their customer service before.

Never bought from them myself yet though, although I'm sure I will in the near future.

Agreed - they have a good reputation.

I'd still rather buy stuff in Condor Cycles as I can still hold/poke/try on/speak to people about the gucci bike stuff there.

p.s. gucci meaning quality bicycle related gear and not the crap t-shirts at the local market.

+1

i ordered a few things from them, shipped to france (free shipping >50 pounds of purchase)

delivery is very fast

one faulty item (crank brother alloy pump, got to give it to them) was taken back and refunded including shipping cost back to UK

all this with a very responsive customer service... what else can i ask...

Agreed, have bought loads of things from them, never had to return anything yet touch wood. Shipping is very fast to Ireland also.
Chain Reaction Cycles are also good shipping, free for every purchase to Rep Ireland, regardless of price.

Thanks for spreading the word about a solid merchant. This is a must-have for me, especially in winter. Some tires I can remove with my fingers, others are a real struggle, especially in cold weather & with cold hands.

I was able to get some excellent tires from a merchant for a very low price, because they were a tad small from standard in circumference, and people were returning them because they were so difficult to mount. The Kool Stop yawned at the challenge.

I've never had a problem with an item from them, but I've ordered from them often, and it's always super-quick delivery, anything they say is in stock always is, shipping is free, prices are keen. They're not so good for unusual items, but for the general stuff, they're awesome.

They should be ok these days if they have cleaned up their website security. I used to follow a forum (cyclingplus) before it turned into bikeradar.com. There used to be a thread on there about 20/30 pages long of cyclists who had their credit cards compromised by that retailer. Not sure what ever came of it but I would do some research before trusting them with my details again.

Now you only need to trust them to deliver what you ordered, and refund returns - because you can pay through PAYPAL ! And your card details stay with PP.

That's how I paid. The refund from Wiggle was immediately paid back from Paypal to my card where the original funds for the payment were drawn from. Although the refunded postage costs stayed in my Paypal account

Fair enough. Thread is gone now but there are some other forum discussions about it when it transpired. I believe the problem was all about people getting the details and going on shopping a shopping spree. But Paypal option should sort that.

Other than that their customer service is top notch as mentioned.
